Bright green kiwi cucumber detox smoothie in a glass with fresh kiwi, cucumber, spinach, and lime

Kiwi Cucumber Detox Smoothie for a Fresh Morning

This kiwi cucumber detox smoothie is a bright, clean-tasting blend made for mornings when you want something fresh, simple, and easy to sip. Sweet kiwi brings a tropical note, cucumber keeps it crisp, spinach adds a pretty green color, lime gives it a zippy finish, and coconut water helps everything blend into a light, refreshing drink. It is a great smoothie for breakfast, a quick snack, or a fresh start after a busy day.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe kiwis, peeled
  • 1 cup chopped cucumber, peeled if desired
  • 1 cup packed fresh spinach
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup chilled coconut water
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional

How To Make It

Add the coconut water to the blender first. This helps the blades move easily and keeps the smoothie from getting too thick at the bottom.

Add the peeled kiwis, chopped cucumber, spinach, lime juice, and ice. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, or until the smoothie is completely smooth and bright green.

Taste and adjust before serving. If your kiwis are very tart, add a small drizzle of honey or maple syrup and blend again for a few seconds. If you prefer a thinner smoothie, splash in a little more coconut water. For a frostier texture, add a few extra ice cubes.

Pour into a glass and serve right away while it is cold, fresh, and vibrant.

Tips

Use ripe kiwis for the best flavor. They should give slightly when gently pressed, which means they will blend up sweet and juicy.

English cucumber works especially well because the skin is thin and the flavor is mild. If using a regular cucumber, peel it first if the skin tastes bitter.

For a creamier smoothie, add 1/2 frozen banana or 1/4 avocado. Both options make the texture smoother while keeping the flavor fresh.

Want a stronger lime flavor? Add a little lime zest before blending. A few fresh mint leaves are also delicious if you want an extra cool, garden-fresh taste.

If prepping ahead, chop the kiwi and cucumber and store them in the fridge. Blend just before drinking for the freshest color and flavor.

Sip it chilled and enjoy a crisp green morning boost!
