High-protein mango vanilla smoothie in a glass with mango pieces and lime

High-Protein Mango Vanilla Smoothie

This high-protein mango vanilla smoothie is thick, creamy, and bright in the best way. Sweet mango and banana make it naturally sunny, vanilla adds a dessert-like flavor, and a squeeze of lime keeps every sip fresh. It is easy enough for a busy breakfast, satisfying for snack time, and simple to blend after a workout when you want something cold, smooth, and filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 medium banana, frozen or fresh
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice, optional for a thicker smoothie
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional

How To Make It

Add the milk to the blender first. This helps the blades move smoothly and keeps the protein powder from sticking to the bottom.

Add the Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, banana, frozen mango, lime juice, vanilla extract, and ice if using. Secure the lid and blend on high until the smoothie looks completely creamy, about 30 to 60 seconds depending on your blender.

Pause and scrape down the sides if needed. If the smoothie is too thick, add another splash of milk and blend again. If you want it thicker, add a few more frozen mango chunks or a little extra ice.

Taste before serving. If your mango is not very sweet or your protein powder is lightly sweetened, add honey or maple syrup and blend for a few more seconds. Pour into one large glass or two smaller glasses and enjoy right away while it is frosty and smooth.

Tips

Use frozen mango for the best creamy texture. Fresh mango works too, but the smoothie will be thinner unless you add ice or use a frozen banana.

For a stronger vanilla flavor, use vanilla Greek yogurt instead of plain, or add an extra tiny splash of vanilla extract. If your protein powder is already very sweet, skip the added sweetener until after you taste it.

The lime is small but important. It adds brightness and balances the creamy vanilla flavor, especially when the mango is extra sweet. You can also add a little lime zest for a more tropical flavor.

If you are prepping ahead, portion the mango and banana into a freezer bag. In the morning, add the frozen fruit to the blender with yogurt, milk, protein powder, vanilla, and lime. This keeps the recipe quick without blending it in advance.

For a smoothie bowl, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup, blend slowly, and top with granola, coconut, or diced mango.

Blend it up and enjoy a creamy mango-vanilla boost!
