Creamy mango orange smoothie in a glass with mango, orange, and coconut accents

Creamy Mango Orange Smoothie

This Creamy Mango Orange Smoothie is a sunny tropical blend with sweet mango, fresh orange, mellow banana, a squeeze of lime, and creamy coconut milk. It tastes bright and beachy, but the texture is smooth enough for breakfast, a quick afternoon sip, or a warm-day treat. The orange keeps it lively, the mango makes it lush, and the coconut adds that dreamy café-style finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 large orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1/2 medium banana, preferably frozen
  • 1/2 cup canned light coconut milk or coconut beverage
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1/2 cup ice, optional for a frostier smoothie

How To Make It

Add the orange segments, coconut milk, orange juice, and lime juice to the blender first. This helps the blades move smoothly and keeps the smoothie from getting stuck.

Add the frozen mango, banana, and ice if using. Blend on high for 30 to 60 seconds, or until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.

Taste the smoothie. If your orange is extra tart, blend in the honey or maple syrup. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more orange juice or coconut milk. If it is too thin, add a few more mango chunks or a little more frozen banana.

Pour into one large glass or two small glasses. Serve right away while the texture is cold, creamy, and fresh.

Tips

Use frozen mango for the thickest, creamiest texture. Fresh mango works too, but add ice or frozen banana to keep the smoothie chilled.

For a stronger coconut flavor, use canned light coconut milk. For a lighter sip, use refrigerated coconut beverage. Both blend beautifully with mango and orange.

Peel the orange well and remove any large seeds before blending. A sweet navel orange or Cara Cara orange gives the smoothie a bright, juicy flavor without needing much added sweetener.

The lime juice is small but important. It sharpens the mango and orange flavors so the smoothie tastes sunny instead of flat.

To prep ahead, portion the mango, banana, and orange segments into a freezer bag. When ready to blend, add the frozen fruit to the blender with coconut milk, orange juice, and lime.

Sip, smile, and enjoy the sunshine in a glass!
