Air fryer honey mustard salmon with dill gives you tender, whole fillets with a glossy sweet-tangy glaze—no breading or chopping required. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes, then cook the salmon for about 10–12 minutes. Keep the fillets skin-side down; there’s no need to flip or shake them. Check the thickest part with a food thermometer rather than relying on the clock alone.
Ingredients
- 2 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each, preferably skin-on and fully thawed
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
The honey and Dijon make enough glaze to coat the tops of both fillets without leaving a pool of sauce in the basket. Fresh dill goes on after cooking, so its flavor stays bright.
How To Make It
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes. While it heats, pat the thawed salmon dry with paper towels. Check for pin bones and remove any you find.
- Stir together the honey, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and olive oil. Season the salmon with the salt and pepper, then brush the glaze evenly over the tops. Discard any glaze left in the bowl after brushing the raw fish.
- Place the fillets skin-side down in the basket in a single layer, with space between them. Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 10–12 minutes without flipping. Begin checking at 9 minutes; if needed, continue cooking and check again in 1- to 2-minute increments.
- Insert a food thermometer into the thickest part of each fillet. Cook until both reach 145°F (63°C). Transfer carefully to plates, sprinkle with the fresh dill, and serve.
Tips
Choose fillets of similar thickness so they finish at roughly the same time. A thicker center-cut piece may need longer than the suggested range, while a thin tail piece can cook faster. If your basket is small, cook the fillets in batches rather than crowding them.
Brush on a thin, even layer of glaze: excess honey can drip and darken before the centers are done. You don’t need a liner, but if you use one, follow its package and your air fryer’s directions. Never preheat with loose parchment in the basket. A squeeze of lemon at the table is lovely if you have extra lemon on hand; the measured teaspoon already belongs in the glaze.
Add a quick vegetable or rice on the side, and dinner is ready to enjoy.
