Air fryer s’mores dip turns chocolate and marshmallows into a warm, scoopable dessert without a campfire. Cook it in a small baking dish at 350°F (177°C) for about 5–6 minutes, checking from 3 minutes onward. No preheating is needed, and there’s no flipping or shaking: leave the layers in place while the marshmallows toast.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces milk chocolate, chopped into small pieces
- 8 regular marshmallows, halved crosswise
- 4 graham cracker sheets, broken into pieces for dipping
You’ll also need a shallow, 6-inch oven-safe baking dish that fits inside your air fryer basket with space around its sides. Check that the filled dish leaves clearance above the marshmallows when the basket closes; they will puff as they heat. Choose a dish rated for at least 350°F (177°C).
How To Make It
- Spread the chopped chocolate in an even layer across the bottom of the dish. Set the marshmallow halves on top in one layer, pressing their cut sides lightly into the chocolate so they stay put in the circulating air. Keep them below the rim rather than piling them high.
- Put the dish on the basket’s crisper plate or rack, leaving room around it for airflow. Air fry at 350°F (177°C) for 5–6 minutes. Start looking at 3 minutes, then check frequently: the dip is ready when the marshmallows are puffed and lightly golden and the chocolate beneath is soft. If the tops color quickly, stop early and check the chocolate before adding another 30 seconds.
- Using oven mitts, carefully lift out the hot dish. Let the dip stand for 1–2 minutes, then serve with the graham cracker pieces. Warn anyone dipping that the dish and melted chocolate are still hot.
Tips
- Use a dish, not the bare basket. Melted chocolate needs to stay contained. You don’t need a liner; never put loose parchment in an empty air fryer, including during preheating.
- Watch the finish, not just the clock. Basket size, dish depth, and air fryer heat can change how quickly the topping browns. If your appliance cannot be set to 350°F (177°C), use a different oven-safe cooking method rather than guessing at a hotter setting.
- Serve it fresh. Graham crackers give you the classic crunch, while pretzels make a sturdy alternate dipper. If saving leftovers, cover and refrigerate them within 2 hours; warm gently in an oven-safe dish and check often so the marshmallows don’t scorch.
Bring the dish to the table warm and let everyone scoop up a little chocolate and toasted marshmallow.
